I had a great time screen printing with Joe yesterday in my studio. He designed a brilliant image for his t-shirt which he proudly modelled for me afterwards.
Bath illuminations
We were lucky enough to see the Bath illuminations last night; photos are from my phone so don’t do them justice… you can just make out the face on the bridge in the middle photo.
Cath Kidston Jubilee workshop
In preparation for next weeks Jubilee celebrations Cath Kidston Bath invited me to work with a group of 16 lovely ladies last night to embroider Jubilee inspired handkerchiefs. It was a great way to spend an evening!

I had the pleasure of working with some wonderful children today at the Pound Arts arts centre in Corsham. They had great ideas and produced amazing books. I love days like today!
It was the first time I have been to Pound Arts; it’s great venue with lovely staff www.poundarts.org.uk
Folding Cosmos Bath with Paula Tew exhibition
The exhibition preparation is well under way and the pieces have arrived in Bath from New York so we are pleased to have them in the country. We have set up a website for the project atwww.foldingcosmosbath.wordpress.com
Our flyers have also arrived; we have met some lovely people on our journey distributing them so far…..
The Cath Kidston event I worked at in February was a success, it was a great evening of making, eating cake and shopping; a lovely environment to work in.

Cath Kidston workshops: Make a Dresden plate tote bag
The lovely people at Cath Kidston have asked me to run a workshop on the 8th February at their Bath store. I will be on hand to help participants start their Dresden plate tote bag (as pictured above). Tickets are £16 which includes a copy of their new book Patch, all the materials to make the tote bag, refreshments and 15% off in store.

Here are some photos of the Folding Cosmos exhibition I am organising to bring to Bath from Japan. The exhibition will launch on the 27th April and run until the 5th May 2012. During this time there will be the opportunity to attend Japanese tea ceremonies and contribute to our peace tree with origami and messages. I will exhibit textile and book pieces along side the established Japanese exhibition which I will develop in response to a period of research based on the tea ceremony, traditional Japanese dress and symbolism in design. I have started this research and am finding fascinating, can’t wait to start developing the work!

Happy New Year!
I love this time of year, apart from getting chance to spend some valuable time with family and friends, it’s great time for feeling optimistic, renewed and full of hope for the year ahead… this year is no exception. I am really looking forward to starting the research and work for the planned Japanese exhibition in April, as well as filling my diary with lots of other exciting projects.
Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I am really looking forward to to 2012. I have just had some exciting news from the Arts Council, they are going to support a Japanese exhibition I am planning for April 2012, which is fantastic….. I will reveal more in the new year.
